In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina SDV Construction quickly mobilized onsite to NAS New Orleans to repair damaged drywall in 193 dormitory units. Each dormitory had the sheet rock removed past the waterline and new sheetrock installed, taped, floated and textured. Many times kitchen and bathroom casework was removed and reinstalled to complete the repairs. The contract was a labor only contract with the RMA Land the prime contractor supplying all materials. At the time, New Orleans was still uninhabited and living conditions were extreme. SDV’s crews lived in travel trailers and were fed by FEMA.
