The project scope consisted of complete ground up construction of two new livestock buildings for the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens State Park. Elements of construction entailed new asphalt pedestrian paths; chain link fencing; steel guardrail; temporary animal fencing; two new barns and screen walls of concrete unit masonry; SIP roof structure; painted steel roofing; aluminum windows; steel doors and hardware; special aluminum and plastic lumber doors; panels and hardware; section doors; steel structure; concrete floor and foundation; related excavation and earthwork; stucco; painting; plumbing systems; electrical systems; and utility extensions. Each barn consisted of six (6) livestock stalls with two 200 lb. sliding doors and two large overhead doors for a separate drive isle. The interior structure was constructed of 4”x6” structural steel with 2”x6” plastic lumber for wall panels.

Completing the project in a remote location and ensuring construction related activities did not interfere with the current habitat of existing livestock.
