Clean-room Renovation DPIX Semiconductor
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Project Value: $230,000
Dates of Construction: 7/2006 – 10/2006
Project Scope
Architectural modification of an existing semiconductor fabrication facility into an x-ray flat panel screen manufacturing plant.
- Concrete infill of over 50 large holes cut into existing waffle slab including recoating with chemical resistant coatings.
- Installation of 5000 square feet of high strength raised floor in tool move in aisles.
- Installation of 3000 square feet of owner supplied 2’ X 2’ raised floors throughout the fabrication facility to close holes left by demolition of existing tools.
- Installation of several hundred covers on existing pipe sleeves in the waffle slab.
The work was technically difficult to accomplish due to the presence of chemicals left over from the existing facility and most of the work was accomplished in confined spaces under existing raised floors in cleanroom conditions.
